In the second episode of Addicted to Comms, Tom & Sander talk with Katelijne Ulenaers, internal communication expert at UHasselt.
Internal communication beyond just employees? Yes, that's the reality at a university. Katelijne communicates with a whole range of internal audiences, from students to professors.
The idea that you should deliver a message “short and simple” is something she carries from her days as a radio journalist.
UHasselt is a young and relatively small university, with a warm and accessible culture. This is evident in the tone of voice: there's room for a pun here and there. At the same time, the university is growing rapidly: training and empowering faculty colleagues to communicate more themselves is therefore very important.
Their biggest challenge? Getting the right message to the right person.
“I wish I had a crystal ball for that”
says Katelijne regarding the impact of AI on communication.
